There are moments in life where words are not enough to express how one feels and we are sad that this is one of those times…

It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the passing of Elani de la Rey, beloved member of our Zest Infusion team and highly regarded Clinical Psychologist. 

Elani has been a part our Zesty team for the past 7 years, and we don’t even know how to capture the meaning of a colleague; a friend; and a therapist – only your heart truly knows and it’s too special for words. Elani had such a deep therapeutic bond with each client who walked through her door.

Two distinct emotions overwhelm us as a team at this time:

Firstly, that we will live everyday with more zest, courage, compassion, faith, and more giving than ever before. That’s who she was, and it’s what drew us to her. Elani had this incredible way of connecting, seeing the worth in others when we couldn’t even find it within ourselves, and helping to release emotional pain and trauma that held her clients back from living their life meaningfully. 

Secondly, there is an immense sense of loss within us – an emptiness in our heart. She was taken too soon from everyone who cared so deeply for her. Yet, within this pain, we also feel so blessed by her beautiful life and that our life is enriched because of her. 

We vow to be a little stronger everyday because we know that’s what she would have wanted, we vow to being a pillar of strength for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one to cancer.

We know that Elani has many people who love and cherish her. Many people whose lives she graced and healed. Many people who will not let go of hope and whose lives are richer because of her. 

Elani – May you rest in heaven’s eternal glory, reunited with your Saviour.
