Accredited Practising Dietitian, Credentialled Diabetes Educator

For as long as I can remember, I have been aware of the importance of good food and good health. Now, with 20 years experience as a Dietitian, I am dedicated to helping others understand and achieve healthy eating and lifestyle behaviours as well.

I graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in 1996, with a Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics. For many years I worked in Queensland hospitals, eventually specialising in the management of chronic disease, particularly diabetes management. I attained a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education from Curtin University in 2003. I have enjoyed working in private practice for the past 10 years.

I am passionate about helping people achieve and maintain a healthy, comfortable weight and I have a wealth of experience in the prevention and management of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, pre diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. I particularly enjoy facilitating group programs and nutrition workshops on these topics.

I also have a particular interest and experience with diabetes in pregnancy and I am a published author on this topic. I find that helping women achieve good nutrition for fertility, pregnancy and breastfeeding is particularly rewarding.

I appreciate good food and wine and I love sharing it with family and friends. I take great pleasure in cooking with my daughters and helping them develop a healthy relationship with food. We enjoy creating fun, healthy lunch box ideas together. We are currently overcoming the challenges of incorporating an elimination diet into the family meals to manage food allergies.
